10. China Airlines
It is the largest airline in the Taiwan and has almost 11,000 employees. It operates more than 1,300 flights every week to ninety five airports in ninety one cities across Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America. It is famous in China because of its affordability and fine services but China Airlines has faced various incidents and accidents since its establishment. During 1994 to 2002, this airline underwent four fatal accidents, and three of these accidents resulted in more than 200 deaths. The last major accident it suffered was in 2007, whereas another deadly accident occurred in 2002 that caused death of more than 250 passengers.
9. Kenya Airways
Kenya Airways is the flag carrier of Kenya and is also named as Kenya Airways Ltd. This company was established in 1977 and was completely owned by Kenya’s Government until April 1995 and then got privatized in 1996, and is presently based on a public private partnership. As of 2013, this airline is widely deliberated as one of the superior Sub-Saharan operators but has undergone two fatal accidents out of five incidents. The carrier experienced its first crash in 2000, in which 169 people lost their lives. The second fatal accident occurred in 2007 that caused death of 114 people. One minor but life threatening accident occurred during 2014.
8. PIA
Pakistan International Airlines is the national flag carrier and a state possessed company of Government of Pakistan. This airline operates scheduled services to almost twenty three domestic destinations and thirty international destinations in twenty seven countries across Europe, Asia and North America. It has experienced numerous air crashes including five major accidents and more than 500 people killed in these fatal accidents. The most fatal accident occurred in September, 1992 sue to poor visibility the plane crashed into mountains perishing 167 individuals. Another accident occurred in 2006, when the plane crashed into wheat field after bursting into flames just ten minutes after takeoff. Four crew members and 41 passengers were in the plane and all were died. There are also many other incidents of hi-jacking and plane damaging.
7. Garuda Indonesia
It is the flag carrier of Indonesia and performs flights to a number of destinations in the Middle East, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia and Europe from its main hub. Garuda Indonesia airlines has experienced seven fatal events since 1970, the first crash occurred in 1974 in which all the three crew members and twenty eight passengers were killed out of thirty three passengers. The second accidents occurred in 1975 during landing and four crew members and twenty one passengers were died. The other accidents also caused fatalities and injuries but the most deadly accident happened in 1997 when it crashed into a mountainous area and all the 234 individuals including passengers and crew members were died.
6. Avianca
It is the national airline and flag carrier of El Salvador and Columbia. It is the largest airline in Colombia and the second largest in Latin America and also one of the most modern and the largest aircraft fleets on the continent.
This airline experienced some incidents during the 1980s and early 1990s and the deadliest incident was of Avianca Flight 203 that was bombed in 1989, and all crew members and 110 passengers were killed. The other incidents were of hijacking or shootings on board and in most hijackings, crew members and the passengers, unconcerned with the cause of hijacking were immediately released but in one case the passengers were released after one year of hijacking.
The other fatal events happened include the aircraft crashed in 1983 in which 161 out of 172 passengers and all twenty crew members were killed, the other crash in 1988, in which 132 passengers and seven crew members died, the other crash it faced in 1990, in which nine crew members and 65 passengers including one infant were killed.
5. Thai Airways
Thai airways was established in 1988, and is the flag carrier airline of Thailand. From its focal point, Thai flies to almost 78 destinations in thirty five countries, utilizing a fleet of over eighty aircraft. It was the first Asia Pacific airline to deliver London Heathrow Airport. It was a renowned airline in all around the world but unfortunately, the experience of various accidents during 1980 and 1990 damaged its repute. Three fatal accidents occurred in 1980s, one in 1980 in which forty out of forty nine passengers and all 4 crew members were died, the second one happened in 1985, in which all 4 passengers and seven crew members were killed, the third crash experienced in 1987, in which 9 crew members and 74 passengers were passed away.
The major fatal accident occurred in 1992 when a flight near Katmandu was crashed and almost 115 passengers were died, the other deadly accident in 1998, in which there were 101 fatalities. In 2001, an aircraft was destroyed by an explosion whereas it also experienced an accident in 2013, with extensive damage to the plane and runway, but all passengers were successfully escaped with no severe injuries.
4. EgyptAir
EgyptAir is the flag carrier Egypt’s airline, its main focal point is Cairo International Airport, providing services to over seventy five destinations in the Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and the Americas. This is one of the world’s most dangerous airlines as it has undergone a number of accidents and incidents. It has experienced five crashes before 1970s in 1951, 1952, 1963, 1966 and a969 with many people died in these accidents. In 1972, the airplane crashed into a mountain killing all thirty passengers and crew members. The other fatal accident happened in 1976, when the aircraft hit into an industrial complex and caused much fatality.
In 1985, due to explosions by the hijackers caused severe damage to the plane and also caused the death of two crew members and 59 passengers. The accident in 1986 caused death of 18 crew members and 21 passengers but the deadly accident in 1999 near Nantucket Island killed 217 passengers. In February 2000, a plane experienced a landing incident caused severe injuries to 94 passengers whereas on May 2002, the plain crashed into terrain, killed 15 of 64 occupants.
3. Philippine Airlines
It is the flag carrier of the Philippines and is headquartered in Pasay City. Philippine Airlines was founded in 1941 and is the oldest and first commercial airline in Asia serving under its original name. This airlines operates flights in 31 destinations in the Philippines and 36 overseas destinations in East Asia, Middle East, Europe, North America and Oceania. Since its establishment in 1941, it has experienced over sixty aircraft crashes, aircraft hijackings and terrorists attacks. Most of the incidents included propeller driven aircraft, and most of the accidents occurred prior to 1980s. There are also various fatal accidents in which plane has direct and indirect role and caused various fatalities. In 1970, a bomb was suspected and all the 36 people died, the other accidents happened in 1975, 1976 and 1978 in which many people lost their lives. The two deadly accidents occurred in 1987 taking away the lives of almost 65 passengers. The explosion of fuel tank in 1990 killed eight out of 113 passengers whereas the explosion of a small bomb in plane in 1994 killed one of the 287 passengers.
2. Cubana de Aviacion
It is simply known as Cubana and is a national airline that is based in Cuba. It is also the largest airline in the country and is becoming one of the primitive airlines to emerge in Latin America. This airlines has been involved in almost 43 accidents and incidents since its formation with more than 544 fatalities. It is a non trustable airlines that has experienced more than eight major crashes and numerous deaths. The fatal accident in 1976 due to explosion took away the lives of 73 people, the other accident when the plane crashed into ground causing death of five crew members and 33 passengers. A lethal crash happened in 1989, near Havana when the aircraft crashed into the community and all 126 people in the plane were killed and also caused the death of 14 people on the ground. The accidents in 1990s occurred in 1990, 1997, 1998, and two in December 1999 causing death of many individuals, therefore this airline has worst safety records.
1. Iran Air
The Air travel company with the most crashes is the Iran Airways. It is the flag carrier airline of Iran that provides its services to 80 destinations. It’s headquarter is located on the grounds of Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. Iran Air is a dangerous airline as it has undergone various accidents and incidents including ten major air crashes.
During the last five years, no major success has seen in this airlines due to extensive damage to its repute. The first accident it experienced in 1952 that caused 27 fatalities, the other accidents happened in 1980 when the plane hit the ground and all 128 people were killed, the accident in 1988 was due to missile attack that killed 290 people, it was really a deadly accident.
In 2000’s it experienced four accidents in four consecutive years in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. It has also undergone three accidents in 2014, one on March 2014, caused 4 fatalities, second on May, 2014 caused zero fatalities but nine injuries whereas the third one happened on 10th August, 2014 that caused 40 fatalities. So, this airline should not be trusted.
